July 16th, 2022. Squamish Valley Golf Club fields.
In the lush, warm summer of 2022 I had the honour of capturing Mina & Shogo’s wedding! Since then (as I am WAY behind on blogging, like years behind) I’ve gotten to see them many times in big life moments, which I’ll blog about hopefully in the near future. Their wedding took place at the beautiful Squamish Valley Golf Course.
Mina was able to find an Airbnb super close for some quick getting ready photos, while Shogo helped put the final touches on the ceremony and reception space at the venue.

Mina & Shogo decided to plan a first look in the middle of a lovely forest pathway instead of seeing each other for the first time at the alter. This little, quiet moment to themselves sounded like the perfect time to prank Shogo and have one of his groomsmen show up beforehand- dressed in a sheer, white number!

Some laughs, tears, and head shaking was done then we headed on to the real thing.

Surrounded by their loved ones and an extravagant mountain view (that thankfully made its appearance after a cloudy morning), Mina & Shogo tied the knot. Some honourable mentions on the big day; Mina’s parents that flew all the way out from Japan, and Mina & Shogo’s fur-daughter, Ollie!

Following the ceremony we focused on wedding party photos and couples portraits! The rain made a quick appearance again but soon stopped for the remainder of the evening.

We headed back for family & friend photos before it was time to set down at the reception.

Nothing feels better than sitting down at your wedding reception after a fully packed day! You know food is coming, speeches that will make you feel all types of ways, and a party for the ages. Sticking with their colours of greens and oranges, their reception had the most beautiful place settings with personalized cards of pressed florals!

The couple decided to throw snacks off the balcony to guests as a little game! Whether it was guests hands, shirts, or the mini bags provided, they tried their best to catch as many as possible!

Most of Mina’s speech was to her parents in Japanese. She doesn’t get to see them often so it was a huge emotional moment for her mom & dad to be there. She thanked them endlessly, creating a lot of teary eyes in the crowd.

Shogo also played a song for Mina!

They finished off their reception events with a cake cutting, their first dance, and a partyyyy!!!

I’ve had the honour of capturing Mina & Shogo’s wedding day, but also had the utmost privilege of them reaching out to me for maternity and new born sessions while their family grows. These two hold such a special place in my heart, and I can’t thank them enough!
